Felt roller lubricators from Eckardt
The “felt roller” is the most commonly employed lubrication device in shaping technology. The technology and function are very simple. The axle possesses vertical holes from which the lubricant drips in a perforated carrier pipe (similar to the washing machine drum). The oil is fed to the stationary hollow axle by means of a pump or from a pressurised container.
The rotation of the roller evenly distributes the oil in the pipe, which seeps through the holes into the felt hose surrounding the carrier pipe.
The oil-soaked rollers roll over the metal as it passes through and, depending on the saturation, dispense a corresponding amount of oil. These guidelines are not strictly set so that overlaps are possible. This means, for example that during rolling - Ø 60 mm a strip thicker than 2 mm can also be run insofar as this is the exception, or the band is properly fed in front of and after the lubricator.
